“WEAK” DRUG-RELATED CASE AGAINST POPULAR SKID ROW ACTIVIST General Jeff

THIS JUST IN: DETAILS, SENTENCING AND CLOSURE IN LAPD’S “WEAK” DRUG-RELATED CASE AGAINST POPULAR SKID ROW ACTIVIST DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES- (JANUARY 22, 2014)- Today in Superior Court, popular Skid Row community activist General Jeff appeared for sentencing on the second count of LAPD’s “weak” drug-related case which last week ended with a trial jury voting 11-1 in favor of General Jeff, thus resulting in a hung jury followed today with the City Attorney’s office declaring that they would not re-try the controversial case. With an LAPD “sting operation” resulting in only one other arrest after videotaped evidence played in court showed countless drug sales taking place, Jeff was cleared of having anything to do with Skid Row’s notorious drug trade that has existed for decades. A second count of resisting/delaying a peace officer was successful and today Judge Fields sentenced General Jeff to 20 days of community service with a court-approved stipulation that the community service can be performed in Skid Row with Jeff’s own ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS grass-roots community activism organization. Also, Jeff was placed on special summary probation for 12 months with another court stipulation that he would not be automatically subjected to LAPD’s usual “search and seizure” tactics with Judge Fields clearly stating on record that General Jeff’s 4th-Amendment rights will continue to remain forthright. General Jeff’s trial legal team was the private counsel of Ibiere Seck and Rich Barnwell both of the Johnnie Cochran Law Firm. In last week’s trial, when the jury went into deliberations for almost two days, they only requested a readback of two of the LAPD officer’s testimonies, one of which was a female officer in LAPD’s Safer Cities Initiative detail who is also a former Marine. The jury wanted clarification on testimony related specifically to “binoculars”. General Jeff stated after today’s court session that he is not seeking a civil law suit against LAPD at this time, but that is subject to change. ‪#‎VisitSkidRow‬ ‪#‎DTLA‬ ‪#‎LAPD‬ ‪#‎JohnnieCochran‬ ‪#‎TheJohnnieCochranFirm‬ ‪#‎IbiereSeck‬ ‪#‎RichBarnwell‬ ‪#‎IssuesAndSolutions‬
