BREAKING NEWS: POPULAR SKID ROW COMMUNITY ACTIVIST CLEARED OF DRUG-RELATED CHARGESDOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES- Today in Superior Court, popular Skid Row community activist General Jeff, who is also a three-term member of the Board of Directors for the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council, received an 11-1 vote in his favor in a controversial jury trial which lasted for five days. (Case number 3CA14806)This decision finally comes after Jeff was arrested nine months ago on April 23, 2013 when the Los Angeles Police Department (Central Division) claimed that he was somehow involved in Skid Row’s ongoing drug trade which has existed for decades, well before General Jeff arrived in 2006.

Numerous LAPD officers testified against Jeff this week, while others sat in the audience, as they each took the witness stand and gave specific details of their “sting operation” which included additional surveillance equipment, such as video cameras, binoculars, walkie-talkie radios, “chase cars” and more. These LAPD Central Division officers spread out and hid in various locations, some in regular uniforms and others in undercover clothes, while they focused on one specific corner in Skid Row- coincidentally right where General Jeff happens to frequent while making himself available to his constituents. It was a strange “sting operation” because almost all of the drug buyers and drug sellers that were identified by LAPD on the witness stand as the videotape was reviewed were never arrested. That gave the jury the impression that the focus may have indeed been solely on General Jeff, who didn’t testify in his own case because of what he described as “weak evidence” against him. Several of the officers also testified that they were already familiar with General Jeff and his positive efforts in the Skid Row community.
A lesser charge of resisting/delaying peace officers was successful against Jeff and he returns to court next week for sentencing, which prosecutors inferred that it may only be a punishment of community service. General Jeff said “That’s what I’m already doing for the Skid Row community and have been for the last 7 years.” He was then told (off the record) that he may not receive any punishment at all if he can prove his on-going “public servant acts” of providing community service in Skid Row.
