LL Cool J and General Jeff talk about Skid Row!

To the Skid Row community,
Many of you know about my past as a 1st-Generation, West Coast Hip-Hop Pioneer ( artist, producer, writer, etc.).
Not one to brag, but over the years I befriended many stars that are household names throughout the world today. One of them is LL Cool J.
Last Saturday, I supported LL as he went to Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena to have an autograph signing session for the release of his new book, “Platinum 360 Diet and Lifestyle”. Just as he and I always supported and bought each others’ music CD’s in the past, I bought his new book to support him now.
What’s funny is that back when he signed his CD’s, he would always sign “To General Jeff, The Man”. Now, in his book, he signed “To General Jeff, The Mayor!”. WOW!
He then went on to open the conversation by stating, “I’m really proud of what you’re doing for that part of the community( Skid Row)”. “You know, you’ve got a legitimate shot at running for Mayor of Los Angeles, seriously!”, he added.
Again, wow! What a great compliment from such a wise and successful human being. ( who always gives advice and shares intellect and wisdom to his millions of fans on his My Space and Twitter pages almost daily.)
After more conversation, I changed the focus of the conversation to Skid Row and our community’s “positive movement”. LL was very supportive as well as genuinely interested in our efforts. Without disclosing all of what was said, just know that LL Cool J and myself will be continuing our dialog about Skid Row at depth and in length.
( Hint: we might get a surprise visit from a well-known celebrity in the near future)
Note: The attached photograph was taken and sent to me by LL Cool J’s hometown friend and longtime DJ, “Cut Creator”, who in addition to administering entertainment industry websites, still dj’s, produces and is an affluent businessman in his own right.
Lastly, on behalf of the Skid Row community, I would like to publicly congratulate LL Cool J on all his successes including his music, his new book and of course his hit television show, NCIS: Los Angeles, which has filmed several episodes in the Downtown area.
When I mentioned to him about doing a workout video to support his new book AND also when I stated that it was time for him to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he simply smiled and humbly continued to sign autographs.
Stay tuned…
