Breaking News!! – Skid Row Housing Trust named in Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit

April 22, 2010

To all,

It’s official! The lawsuit that we first announced last year that was coming is finally here.

Earlier today, I viewed a copy of the complaint filed against Skid Row Housing Trust. The sixteen-page document was filed and stamped at Los Angeles Superior Court in Downtown Los Angeles.

Due to a pending jury trial, I am not at liberty to speak in depth regarding details. Afterall, I would not want to appear to potentially “taint” the jury pool, even though it would be truthful and accurate information. We at ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS fully respect the American judicial system and are extremely confident that the outcome will be equally truthful and accurate, as well as unbiased.

The delay in filing was not unintentional. Extensive research and the compiling of documentation, including witness testimony in the form of depositions extended the process. Now, the legal team of the plaintiff is ready to proceed.

Attorney Mustafa Abdul-Rahman, APC is the lead counsel for the plaintiff. He can be reached at 213.550.4460 for more details.

Otherwise, stay tuned for more information.

Sincerely,

General Jeff

Rapper and ‘Conscious Hip-Hop’ Innovator Guru Dies After Prolonged Battle With Cancer

April 20, 2010
To Skid Row,
Today news broke that East Coast Hip-Hop Pioneer “Guru” passed after a more than a year-long battle with cancer.
While I only spoke with him once, we were frequently at many hip-hop events together, including several New Music Seminars in New York as well as Soul Train Music Awards in Los Angeles. He helped to create the musical fusion of hip-hop and jazz and because of that alone, he will always be remembered as a trailblazer in our industry.
In addition to that, he was a well-respected MC that launched the group he stared called “Gang Starr” into orbit around the world. Even while knowing of his losing battle with cancer and writing a pre-death will, Guru continued his displeased stance or “beef” with his long-time ally. “DJ Premier”, also of Gang Starr, firming denying any authorization of his name, likeness or performances to his old-skool buddy.
Myself, being a West Coast Hip-Hop Pioneer, have many personal feelings regarding Guru’s death. 1) Having to realize that my era in Hip-Hop is about to start dying off in big numbers, 2) The disappointment of having to hear of the continued beef between the two people credited with creating a never-before-heard style of music, Hip-Hop and Jazz, without ever reconciling their differences, 3) Re-living my own personal bouts with cancer- even though I won both battles, it still bothers me emotionally every time I have to go done that road, 4) Knowing that my death is also eminent and therefore worried if we will complete the task of “fixing Skid Row” before I. too, pass and 5) Hoping that we all learn from this unfortunate loss. And there are many different lessons to be learned.
I could go on and on, but I am starting to get emotional so I will keep the rest to myself.
No matter what, please continue to fight for what we know to be right!
With all my heart,
General Jeff

Disturbing News regarding “Urban Connection” in Skid Row-Update

April 1, 2010
To all,
Today I spoke with Pastor Ron of Set Free Church who until recently, before these latest developments, ended his congregations’ short-term business relationship with Urban Connection on 6th street.
He reiterated the points made in my previous correspondence and is willing to speak with anyone regarding Urban Connection’s questionable tactics. You can reach Pastor Ron at the above e-mail address or via cell, 213.361.2261.
Pastor Ron is a well-respected clergy in our community and I stand behind his word 100%! Please feel free to contact him for more information from the “inside” of Urban Connection.
Thank you all.
